NRS was developed in 1999, with a focus on improving the safety and reliability of brake pads. Currently, the most widely used method of attaching friction material to the steel backing plate is adhesive. Adhesives are unstable and are susceptible to heat, causing disc pads to separate from the steel, known as delamination. Once delamination occurs, brakes will fail !!! In 2001 NRS won the pace award for the best manufacturing method for the production of disc brake pads, with the judge’s citation:
"NRS IS A COMPELLING EXAMPLE OF AN INNOVATIVE SOLUTION TO AN UNSATISFACTORY BUT ACCEPTED PROCESS IN THEAUTOMOTIVE INDUSTRY”
The end result is that delaminated disc brake pads on vehicles are a safety hazard, NRS will eliminate that risk.

No matter which grade of brake pads you buy, they are only as good as the friction materials bond to the backing plate.
